2.30pm Final Devonport V Somerset

  1. Did Ulvie play a reserves side again today? That seems to be their excuse when they get beaten badly...

Congrats to Devonport who won comfortably today, the game, as a spectacle, was somewhat ruined by the red card to Somersets Captain/Coach...maybe an over reaction from the referee? But also...probably not the behaviour you would like from a senior member of the club...

However, Burnie look the goods for the season proper. A committed Chris Smith, a returning De Bomford and the possibility of Funky returning, along with the Burnie stalwarts makes them one of the favourites for the premiership!

  2. a committed chris smith? is that suppose to be a joke. a guaranteed red card for any team with a decent defense.

  3. Disagree Orlando, Chris is a class player on his day, and when playing at left midfield (his best position), he doesn't get as frustrated as up front, and is a real match winner.

If he can keep his temper in check and Sam and the boys assist him (which I am sure they will), he would probably win association B&F.

ANYONE, what were the scores in both games?

  6. Devonport 5 - Somerset 1.
Goalscorers Kurt Howard 3, Grant Ashdown 1 & Keegan Downes 1. Danny Eaves replied for Somerset.

Somerset coach sent off with aroud 15 minutes to go for kicking Downes behind play after conceding a free kick. Fair call I thought. Funniest thing all day was young Treloer wanting to fight every Devonport player, every one of his Somerset team mates, the referees & the Burnie supporters!! Hilarious!!!!

Burnie beat Ulverstone about 8 - 0. I think it was 2 nil at half time. An Ulvie player was apparently sent off in second half for a foul where he was the last defender.

Burnie pitch in superb condition & it's hard to imagine any ground being in better nick at the moment. Ours is pretty good except goal mouths which are shithouse!!

  7. Thanks Chris for the update, I thought we had gone back to the 90's, I had to go and buy the advocate just to find out what had gone on, and I was still none the wiser to the 3rd v 4th game?

Plenty of passion on the coast then. Looking forward to getting it all started again!
