  3. For those who read this site,I wanted to thank all the girls who accepted the invitation to play for the North on Sunday.Their commitment to the training sessions has been exceptional,Girls have come from all teams and the feeling in the group, I couldn't ask for better.
The girls from Burnie,S'Set,Ulvie and Dev,have shown unbelievable commitment to the team with over 5 hours (inc Travelling and training)just to train with the squad."I applaud you all"
Whatever happens on Sunday against the South, we have all grown as a group and will do the North of the State proud.

  4. To all participating in the Big Game @ Aurora Stadium this Sunday, Good Luck. You are a credit to your club & the North/North West. We need to show case what a great game this is. For the clubs, I hope you have approached your team reps & Coaches & Staff and thanked them for representing your club. Never take your players for granted. They also put in the hard miles. Recognition goes along way especially when these great soccer players have given up so much to be a part of this. To both Coaches..Go Get'em, show them what we have. Cant wait till Sunday!!

  5. All the very best to both the mens & womens Northern representative teams for Sunday. I'm sure you'll put your best foot forward and hopefully give the southerners a touch up!!! Just remember the word TEAM, it's one they often forget &, as last years mens games showed, can be the difference between winning & losing. Again, best of luck to all the coaching staff & players

  7. Nigel off www.northernrangers.com

Northern Rangers had six members in the Northern representative squad in the North Vs South series game one.

Coach of the side was Rangers Roslan Sa'ad and his Manager was Rangers President Mark Ackerly. On the field Marshall Pooley lined up in goals with Sam Luck captaining the side from Centre back. Todd Hingston selected in midfield with late inclusion Paul Bremner getting the late call up for the game at York Park.

The North boys executed the game plan with precision, and were able to over come the set back of losing Claxton early in the first half to injury.

Whilst the South boys were playing well, they could not penetrate the North defense. It took some hard work from Riversides Sam Hughes to open the scoring for North in the second half, then a great free kick from Sam Luck was headed home by Tabrett from Ulverstone to secure the win to North 2-0 and continue their resent dominance of the series.

  8. Way to go North, great stuff, the South looked to have a "top class" squad?

  9. Well, what a great day on Sunday at the Stadium. Well done to both the North Men on their win & the North Women for a great effort. My suggestion is that it would have been great to present the players(over the PA)& Refs.with FFT Reps present on the field & let both teams throw out little soccer balls in the crowd, also at the end I think medallions should have been handed out for such an occation. This draws the attention of the crowd to a spectacular display of our States Best & a sport which is fast growing. Players receive nothing but give up so much. Were there any FFT people there?? Do we know them, seeing as we come from the bottom of Tasmania (or is that TOP?)?! Oh.. one more thing.. Do the institute of sports girls from the South, pay to play football? or do they even play in the Premier League? are they on a scholarship or such? Interesting don't you think? Come on FFT didn't see you in the change rooms wishing the teams all the best. Dont be afraid of us, we don't bite.

  10. Valid points rascal. FFT should be organising guys a jacket/shirt to wear, no after match function like last year. Not much to ask for guys who have given their own time, had to travel to train. Some comments were why do we bother, to which the reply was to stick it up the show ponies from the south lol. I was team manager from the north and only FFT person I say ws Robert Freke the refs co-ordinator. A shake of the hand can go a long way.

  11. Thanks Rangers Pres. maybe we need to put our requests on the walter pless site. That would be interesting. It would be good if the goveness could get permission to add our Blog site to Walters. We need to express our concerns so they are heard by the right people. Have a good weekend of Soccer....
