  2. Tips:
Launceston City V Hobart Olympic a 'must see' game - the game of the round could go either way but will tip Southern side for this one 1-2
Glenorchy Knights V Prospect Knights Hobart side should have a comfortable passage to the next round 4 - 0
Clarence V Burnie another good game but see Hobarts Clarence advancing 3 - 1
Somerset V Devonport having played each other this week already can't see the outcome changing much 0 - 8
Uni V Northern Rangers another interesting game that could go either way but will tip the Northern side for this one 2 - 1
Ulverstone V Hobart Utd could be a close one home side on a good spell though 2 - 1
Taroona V Tilford Zebras the visitors should do this OK 0 -3
Beachside V Sth Hobart again have to go with the visitors 0 - 4

Cup games are always special - wish you all well.

  3. See on the FFT website Prospect Knights have already surrendered to Glenorchy Knights in the Cup game. Wonder why?

  4. Ulvy will be missing Danielle - a solid and consistent performer for the Reds.

  10. Seems like a great opportunity for FFT to schedule State Wide Womens Cup for the Saturday (As was Rd 1)Sunday is not an appropiate day for teams travelling from the South to the North/North West or North West teams travelling South especially when the grounds are not being used on the Saturday,Mothers day was a classic example of no one using common sense, with some grounds being used Sat Then Sun for one game Dragging officials out on a day to celebrate our Mothers. It tells me we need to get FFT more involved with this issue of the raising the profile of the Womens game, one opportunity missed another chance coming.

In the past it has been the clubs , and the players, not wanting to play Saturdays, and not FFT that has been the reason for Sunday games for Women. FFT have already indicated that it is willing to facilitate Womens matches on Saturdays (and any other day/night for that matter) if the clubs agree!

  12. Paul.I believe that FFT are responsible for the Draw/Roster for the statewide womens cup and if in the past they didn't see the need to consult the clubs,(who in my opinion should consult the players of today as to what they see as the way forward)Maybe thats as I stated common sense should prevail.
Most of the negative responses from the clubs that dont relish change has been lack of officials, change rooms etc,and this competition i saw as a chance to bring the game into the 21st Century .All I hear these days is "In the past" tha past is history.the future is a mystery but today is today.
If as you say it's up to the clubs then I appologise to the FFT and ask what are the non progressive clubs doing to improve the womens game. These are my opinions and they are from the front line and not from afar.
