  1. Should be a great round, with some interesting match ups Devonport ,Rangers match Sat will be one to watch, both teams matched up well last year will be interesting,
Coastal Derby between Ulvie & Burnie both lost last start and will be looking for a win I predict a close one,United v Knights,Knights will post it's first win UTas v Somerset i'm going for the Sharks home ground only reason. The 2 City teams play in a game which City 1 should win the amount of goals will depend on which city 1 players who have played for Allies this year and vice versa Allies finished with only 8 fit players last week.
    Good luck to all teams.

Somerset & Utas im going to Say UTAS in this one Somerset found it hard to score against an 8 player side last week cant see them getting this one Utas 2-1

from what I have managed Knights won 11 - 2 only managed to get some of the scorers and I have heard the game between Allies and City was played through the week (Wed night) but have been unable to confirm this.

Along with your self i to went to watch this and after talking to the referee that was to do this game who came down from the North West and was told it was played on Saturday dissapointing that there was no information that this game had been played or changed.

  8. Thanks Governess,I didn't want to appear a whinger,This years Premiership could be decided on goal average, and it's highly possible that there will be a top 4 North v South play off for the State title,so positions are important, playing games (as I see it) behind closed doors,is leaving yourself open to criticism and inuendo's ,while I was feeling let down how does the refeeree feel, and others who went to watch.

  10. This is disappointing and an explanation is essential. When so much effort is being made to progress this game - with some success - this isn't helpful. I wonder if Football Federation Tas are aware or if the rostered official who turned up as scheduled submitted an official report - or at the very least a claim for travel?!

  11. I contacted FFT, City approached them Tuesday 26th to reschedule the game for Saturday, which they approved, but failed to inform of change, due to being under staffed,I'm Still dissapointed.

  12. Can we then deduct 3 pts from FFT ? LOL

  13. In citys defense I think they have done it before, no for a fact they played mid week last year. Still no excuse for people and officials not being notified (dont they allocate officials). The mind boggles really

  14. There s now a form available on the FFT website to register your ideas with the Women's Standing Committee to lift the profile of Women's Football in the State.
To download the form Go to:
FFT website > About Us > Women's Standing Committee
    and follow the instructions.

Be good to see your ideas and know that they all be given full consideration.

There was some meaningfull discussion going on through this blog earlier thanks to the Governess but now we all have the opportunity to have input into how to improve the way things are done / run.

This is the chance we have all been waiting for so get your submissions in and be a part of the process.

  15. John this great to see and not before time all you need now is the support behind it and the clubs to follow have we heared anymore on final series for the womens game or is it going to be just for the men.

  16. Governess the discussion at the Northern Presidents meeting was for there to be a womens final series, along the same lines as the mens, with some tinkering with the roster, so as where possible womens team could play at the same venue as there mens team

  17. Crooks'y I would have taken 3pts off both teams on Sunday when I arrived at the ground and found it had been played, but would be better to try and take (pts) off them on the playing arena what do you reckon.LOL NOT!!!
Just wanted to inform all who read this Blog,Devonport v Knights has been Re-Scheduled to later in the season, and won't be played this week end.

  18. Not sure about others but I am finding all this hard to accept. We have City and Allies rescheduling 'roster' games - guess it has to be for player unavailability and not ground conditions and again this week City requesting Uni to reschedule(which I beleive was knocked back by Uni) - now we have Knights / Devonport agreeing to postponing their game due to player unavailability.
It's not sending out a good message about the competition in the North!
    Or is it just me?

  19. We are meant to be trying to lift the profile of the game in particular for the Women - how can we expect to be treated with respect?
This would NOT be accepted in the Men's roster!

  20. Crooks'y in response to you believing that Re Scheduling a game due players being unavailable is sending the wrong message about our comp. I agree to disagree, "MY"opinion is the options are far worse ie:Forfeiting or playing a sub standard game ie:Turning up with 9or10 players. This happend to my team last year by opposition teams.
As a coach you don't like having to consider re scheduling but as stated the options are far worse, I/We don't have the right to demand from people who pay to play that they relinquish all, and make themselves available week in week out,but we do have the right to do whatever it takes to play a game at the best possible standard which showcases our game.
For example I watched a game over Easter hardly anyone there, both teams confessed they had at least 5 of their best and most experienced players unavailable, who obviouly had chose to do other things, the game was sub standard(my opinion)and did nothing for the womens game,a pat on the back for playing the game "MAYBE or MAYBE NOT" the game would have been better to have been played at a later date with the more experienced players available,a much better option for me.
In relation to "it wouldn't happen in the mens game" it does, but they have 2 more squads in which to draw players from, to cover player movements we don't have that luxury, and untill we do, we need to put our best players on the park it's the only way to move forward, sub standard games do nothing for the womens game.It appears that there needs to be a lot more discussion on our game before we all agree to agree.
