  1. Love to hear more about the Burnie v Ulverstone game! 6-5 to Ulvy after being 2-4 down. Sounds like it was a cracker!

  2. Burnie went 1-0 up when chris smith's deflected shot managed to find it's way over the keeper. Ulverstone soon equalised when Brayden Mann hit a rocket volley from on the edge of the box that swerved and hit the post and went in. Ulverstone went 2-1 up just before half time when ben foote put in a superb cross which mann headed home. Burnie came out firing after half time with 3 quick goals to smith, all superbly taken goals but then the game turned ugly when Ash from burnie was sent off for punching youngster connor meaney and then grabbing mann around the throat. Ulvie lifted after that and adam beard hit a well placed volley into the bottom corner to make it 4-3. Mann then earnt and scored a penalty to equalise and then a few mins later gave ulvie the lead when he nutmegged the keeper from meaney's pass. Kaimon johnson then hit a thunderbolt from about 30 yards that swerved around to put burnie back in the match with about 5 min to go but beard struck again with a perfect chip in the last min of the game. ulvie winning 6-5 but the Burnie players weren't to happy with Coley's refereeing performance and surrounded him after the game and one even kicked a ball at him that hit him. Wasn't a pretty sight after the full time whistle and maybe further action taken by the officials???

  4. When will someone get Brayden a trial on the mainland, he needs to try out on a bigger stage, and soon, preferably before A league starts again???

Heard Devonport / Rangers was also a cracker, any report on that game??? Watched the Knights / City clash, looked like a tough local derby, again?

As for referees, we all bag em, me included but thankfully the few older experienced refs continue each week and do the best that they can, otherwise, we would have to do it ourselves, and then tempers would be worse for sure? Just a reminder to all, we play for fun, competitive, but not professional???

Nigel's idea in earlier posts have merit and FFT and our clubs need to do something before the last few refs all quit?

TIME FOR A SPECIAL NORTHERN CLUB MEETING TO DISCUSS OPTIONS AND FUTURE OF OFFICIALS???

New 2010 Premiership book as follows:

    Knights & Rangers 5 - 4
    Devonport 6 - 4
    Riverside & Ulverstone 7 - 4
    Burnie 20 - 1
    City 66 - 1
    Somerset 100 - 1
    United - 500 - 1

Anyone of 5 teams can get up from here, which team who knows??

  5. eadie could of scored very early after going 1 on 1 wid keeper. jago scored early before mckenna scored from a free kick. bremner made it 2 1 after beating the keeper to the ball then scoring from about as a tight angle as u could get. jago had a great chance to make it 3 1 before ht but lifted his shot over.

second half dev had more of the ball (we couldnt keep it when we got it) and had it in rangers half and piled bodies forward. lots of corners and balls in the box but couldnt create any real clear cut chances. we could not score on the counter with a few chances we had and a goal from a corner disallowed because it had already apparently gone out. mckenna then scored from about 25m with a very good strike across the goal. cant remember any chances for either side to win it in the last five?
