  3. South 2-0 and Dev 2-0

Great hard fought win by the Burnie boys, after a LONG ass bus trip!!! Goals- C.smith, M.ambrose, A. Johnson. and J.Ladic with zebras goal!

One thing i will add... Hugely disappionted with the fact that after the game NO ZEBRA player or member stepped foot in the club rooms for a beer and a yarn. No food either and Sheryl had to talk them into opening the bar! Whats the go here!

Anyway on roll 3 northern teams.... hahahahahah

  4. Soccer in hobart is very typical of that especially at KGV, Funky.
Zebras no doubt went back to Italian Club but usually invite the opposition as well, especially a coastal team.
However this behaviopur is not encouraged down south, no wonder they are like they are.!!
I went to a Knights v ? match last year at KGV and me and my Knights nephew were the only ones at the bar after the match, had to go to croatia club to meet some other players.
VERY disappointing though you guys got no invite back to club though.
Great result for Burnie, well done.

  5. Ok Nigel, did not realise this, Def no invite to us that i know of! Makes sense just to stay at KGV in my opinion!! Is a great result for the club though absolutly, We took our chances and they didn't... therefore 3-1 BANG!

BUFC V NRFC has been confirmed at NTCA for the 4th September... Apparently if it couldn't happen at NTCA, a double header at KGV was on the cards... PFFFFT!

  6. Are you serious Funk? play Ranger down here?
I had a great day, loved it. but was a disgrace after the game, Ray and I tried to have abeer at half time and again after the game still no bar open. At TAroona we invite the opposition to the Taroona Lounge Bar for a drink and feed them free wood fired pizzas (very good ones too) Clarence, New Town and Kingborough have fed us after games this year and South invite us for a beer as did Knights I think, but it is a far cry from the social scene in the Northern League

  7. Funky, the use of the term "BANG" is a registered trademark of NRFC. please refrain from its use when referring to BUSC. peace out le COQ!

beyond that, well done North, This is a brilliant concept, even better now that the north have put a stamp on it in 2010. Best part is we have gauranteed a NORTH rep in the State championship Final. Could it even be an all northern affair? Surely FFT would have to send the game to the NORTH if that were the case!!!!!! It simply isnt fair that The southern teams are always going to get the "home Final" this isnt Aussie Rules, and KGV isnt the MCG!

Looking forward to next weekends game at the NTCA, good luck Dev hope Rangers will be playing you lot in a fortnight!

Any feedback out there on attendance and general hype about these games, many people about to watch in Dev or at KGV? I notice on South v River highlights very few about at that game! Rangers had an exceptional turn out at the NTCA for Clarnece game, great to see nearly 100% of our NTJSA teams players in the stands, making a heck of a lot of noise, for a club that doesnt belong to any part of Tas in particular, it was great to have such strong support, something we have long struggled to achieve

  9. Beardy, can you send me an email on northernrangers.com contacts page please, just shoot an enquiery off with your phone number or email if you wouldnt mind.

Thanks again for catching the game, what a great service to the North!

  10. Added to Nigels comments and your Funk, KGV is like a neutral venue. The clubs receive no revenue from the ground and just use it. Remember last year when we played in the cup final, if I hadnt contact FFT beforehand they wouldnt have put the subway on that we had in the bar after the game.

Added to this they generally arent dont have to worry about food for opposition as no one travels.

Suprised they didnt invite you somewhere.

We will find you a few scraps out of the bins somewhere on Saturday for you guys Funk win or lose :)

  11. El Donk! Ill throw BANG around as i please haha Being one of rangers favourite sons!

KGV might be slightly neutral to northern teams but not when playing a southern team... and there was no way BUFC would bus to hobart 2 and possibly 3 weeks in a row! Crazy talk!

Glad its been sorted and at NTCA! Always good blokes, good beer, good banter, good FOOD ;) and hopfully one hell of a SEMI FINAL!

Cant believe some of the crap being flown around on Walters blog...

  12. I'm not sure what all the crap on Walter's is about either Funk. It didn't seem to be a very spiteful game at all, how did it feel to you? The stands were pretty tame I thought. Nobody really cares about the food, I dont think, it's more the... have a beer and a chat to the blokes you've been chasing around the park for 90 mins. I reakon the Zebra players may have expected Burnie to go to Italian club.

  15. Hugo, Game was hard and physical but that is expected from a knockout type game, there were no hard feelings or grudges held by any us boys! Jez got snapped, i got knocked out... my jaw's still killing me!!! but you get over it!

Exactly. its not the food its the disrespect of them not coming into the club rooms!!! The good old post ,match president speeches!!

Cant believe one bloke on walter site telling us to harden up coz its only a 4 hour drive max!!! What do south guys know about traveling during the season, and how much do they winge about a bus trip up north!! haha some of the zebra players winged about having to travel to taroona coupkle times a year.... classic :)

  16. same on sunday when somerset and taroona women had to share their after match food sitting on the footpath outside KGV after the facility was locked after the match.
Don't FFT understand that this team travelled 4 hours to play and faced a four hour trip home!! Bloody Pathetic FFT.
Hugo why wasn't this match played ay Taroona Ground, then at least there would have been a facility to go back to?
Premier League....!! more like Mickey Mouse's adventures in La La Land!

  17. It was played at KGV because although we would've looked after the girls very well after the game, the playing surface at Kelvedon Park (Taroona) is terrible, it was decided that to give the girls a decent playing surface was most important so we hired KGV, $60 per hour I believe. We assumed they would be able to use the building afterwards for a feed and drink, I guess we should have asked if they could instead of assuming. The hospitality and comradery between clubs isn't the same down here as it is up North, unfortuneatly

  18. a week has gone and a lot has be said for/against things that have gone on but i beleive this only goes to show the North competition is stronger than the South in general in many ways - leave it alone it's their problem NOT OURS - let us continue in the North to improve our own high standards at our own Club levels and at our own version of hospitality - which i beleive we all enjoy after a game. we have set our own standards let's enjoy and leave the South to their own devices.

best wishes to all involved this week-end from the North!
