  1. Living and working back in the city of the EMus again and am informed that Burnie has started training under new coach Sam Cock.Scot Parke is reserves coach with Peter Van Ek ladies coach.
Ray Parke will coach the under 18's and also be the club's junior development officer.
Not sure exactly about numbers or new faces but have been told that the numbers look good.
Let us have some fun with the new season.

  2. Great to have you back in town Logan. Will be interesting to see how Sam goes this year, certainly had some respect at the Sharks.
Sharks will open their new change room facilities on Feb 27th, the first round of the Summer Cup, so all clubs can get a good look through on the day.
I hear Sharks have lost quite a few players both old and young, seems a lot of the better unders may not be there this year, shame anbout that.
So a first time senior coach will no doubt be on a rebuild program similar to the start of 2003 which eventually led to the State Premiership in 2006.
Remember the Sharks are based in a town of just 3,500 people so it takes some time to build and retain enough senior players to be at the top of the Premier League.

  3. Hi Nigel, Looks like we are the only starters at this stage. However it is good to be back in Burnie and enjoying it.I hear you now have the title of Legend with your club and having been told all about your hard work ...all I can say is that you deserve it.
Have not been to Montello yet as boys are training on the beach I am told as ground is too dry[Looks like the council is trying to save water].Apparently there are some good new faces up there and that is fine as long as we do not overlook our good upcoming younger players.Players seam to be happy with Sam's coaching I am told and Burnie seems to have some interesting under 18's sterting as well.
    TIME WILL TELL.

  4. Numbers at Somerset are around 24 - 30 with the unders still a bit short. Beach and cross training finished with all training back at Shark Park.
New change rooms will be opened at 2nd round of summer cup on 27th Feb.
Pitch is still in council hands with work done on resurfacing and filling dips etc, the ground is only in its 4th year so still settling in places.
Thursday membership nights will begin again in March.
    Seniors look fairly young though.
