  1. I recon Dev might just get another scare from Burnie!!!

Wont tip an Upset, but will tip a draw of some sorts!

  2. Captain I understand Burnie have some players out and Kenny I think needs 2 goals to catch up with young Mann.On the other hand as we said before Burnie are always full of surprises.Hope the ghround is playable as I hope to be there as well tomorrow. All the best for your cup final and hope you bring it back to Launceston.

  3. Sorry Logan, we failed the north, Clarence just too good and too hungry on the day, Rangers lost 2-0. Bloody fine game though, Rangers looked good in patches but lacked bite upfront. Great atmosphere, great support from both sides, large crowd, lots of noise, most of it before the game!!!

See you next week clarence! hopefully with some real refs!

  4. You have not failed my friend. At least you got to the final but it lets me understand that you are not very happy with the ref's performance.
I watched the game at Dev'port which as expected did not reach any heights except for Mckenna scoring 4 goals to get top scorer.I understand both teams and Burnie in particular had players missing.I still enjoyed the game dispite my team losing 6-2.
And yes for sure I will be at your game next week but why at Birsh Ave and not NTCA ground?

  5. NTCA shut the ground after footy and soccer roster season every year so to get the pitches ready for cricket. They wont let either codes play finals there unfortunatly.

Refs were not that bad, just dont let the game go on down there, if you sneeze you get pulled up! lines lady was a little triger happy with the flag, having said that, Clarence would have to go down as the undisputed champs at offside trap play!

I think when you play in hobart or get the southern refs, you appreciate how good some of our refs are here, simply because they let us play football with out putting them selves in the spot light all day. just let the game go abit i say!

Not one northern officaly on our game which was alttle disapointing, but I am not saying we would have won with northern or better refs either, just would have liked to see a bit more football and less stopages

The "lines lady" was spot on EVERY time. Something acknowledged by those that actually appreciate and understand the current application of the offside law.

The idea of the modern game is to promote the use of skilful play and not the old way of toughest wins out. Players here dont make a living from the game so serious injuries are to be avoided as much as possible - and that means pulling up the fouls and not letting them build up into a succession of paybacks.

So let the best football playing team win.

Rangers had enough chances in the game, including standing on the ball with only keeper to beat - altho pooley did do very well on a number of occassions as well.

The next encounter promises to be a fantastic match and I hope it draws a good crowd.

  7. was a good game yes. the lady on the line did quite a good job i thought, had some pretty close ones to call.the snoozer up the other end was poor.missed several blatant ones.

everyone knows that its different refering down south, and north clubs need to get used to it.but some of the calls where BULL S@#t. netballers would have been angry. agreed that you have to look after player but ref was rubbish.
and for coming over and chirping the sidelines near coaches box was a good laugh, had us in stitches. probably wasn't the most proffesional thing to do.

  8. Amazed, are you the centre ref, sure sounds like it.

Todd is correct, the imature dig at supporting his assistant, was something I would have expected from a player. showed he had no faith in his call but was going to support it anyhow!

  9. Guys was he consistent all match, if so that's all you need and can expect from a good ref, and then adjust your game accordingly? It is different between leagues, but if they pay "soft ones" all game, then that's how you play, adapt or lose???
