  1. somerset by a couple

ulvie to possibly hold dev on their shit hole of a ground? ulvie travelling alright but will they be able to match it with the better teams. for some reason i think they might

    burnie easy over lonnie

rangers shod be able to get over river but only by a goal or 2 i think. ranger strikers shod be able to score a few. river defensively looks rather ordinary but do hav a good keeper. river do have some good attacking players that can score

  8. Ah and some tips!!!!
Burnie should get over Laucneston, how do Burnie travel, I know they are hard to beat at Montello, but what about in Launceston this year. First trip away from the coast for the emus, should be an interesting affair. Launny looking dangerously close already to clinching their 4th wooden spoon Im sorry. Long way to go however.

Somerset with a few injuries from last week, should be able to beat CIty providing they havnt lost any more than Sken, is he alright? how did Bobby Eaves Quad end up?
City on the other hand, wont be the easy beats a few expect them to be. They will pull some big results out this year with McNiel, Frost and a few others back. Brown-Price and Duncan are always handy players, nothing is certain for this game and a hard one to pick, but I am sticking with the sharks by one.

I actually believe that Ulvie will give Dev a touch up. These guys have kept a good young side together for a while now, and as long as someone lays a monster hit Mckenna early and re does his ribs, they will win. If Mckenna gets through un scathed Dev will win!

Rangers to get over River! Well done Chad Honey for his First Senior Game Start!

  13. Todays result at Ulverstone was
    Devonport 5 Ulverstone 2
    Res Devonport 3 Ulverstone 1
Sorry wasnt there for the Under 18 game

There were three things that impressed at Ulverstone today
1:Very Good Variety at the Cantten especialy the Vegie Soup.
2: The six Ball Boys and Girls supplied by Ulverstone who did a fantastic Job alday and it kept both sen and Res games flowing, Well done kids and Ulverstone.
3: Chris McKenna First game could see he wasnt match fit But in the Second Half Ulverstone let him run Free for which he scored two craking goals and he could of at least had two more and also fed off to other team members (Ulverstone Should Have Supplied Him A Chair In Front Of Goal As He Was Never Marked)

Other than that it was a great afternnon for Footabll on The North West.

  26. Vanlickndong,
Did McKenna get through the game with his ribs still there? Not very nice of u to want to inflict pain on another.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh anon!!!!
Why would you bother posting under anonymous?
It dosent take long before the "weak in the pants" posters get on and start the fun!!

I at no point wanted to inflict pain, just voiced what any good coach would be thinking, get out there and lay some FAIR hip and shoulders on Mckenna and see if you can upset him and his confidence! the guy is class and the only way the rest of Nth Tas can keep up is through exploiting weakness! how do you think the rest the sporting world cause upsets? find the weakness and exploit it! I didnt suggest some one should punch the poor guy in the side off the ball, which I have seen already a few times this year in our opposition! just give him a good bump, which I am sure he can expect everytime he gets on the park!

  28. Captain Australia & Anonymous, like anyone who plays our great game I expect a few big hits & to be honest I quite enjoy them! As you said most coaches would try to exploit any weaknesses and I know my coach would try to do the same! There were plenty of solid hits in the game against Ulvie but nothing untoward (despite what they were overheard saying prior to kick off!). I expect that each week, it's been no different for as long as I can remember & will no doubt remain the same until I pull up stumps. At the end of the day, lets play hard & fair then retreat to the sheds for a few frothies!!

  29. Well said Chris old boy. sounds as though the disaster against knights was a once in a season event! looking forward to our class in the last round of the first half!

Where is snowy, is he not playing div1 any more?

    ReplyDelete
  30. yeah we have two div one teams. You played the regular team on Sunday & the Devonport Wizzards are our other team. They beat Premos 9-0. Snow, Howie, Bails, 3 x Guilberts, 2 x Meldrums, Wayne Boyd, Chilla & a few others play in that team. They won the gold medal at the World Masters Games in Melbourne in 2002 & the Div one season is their pre season for this years tournament in Sydney. Are you joining the boys in Sydney in October Hugo??

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeh Kenny, I can't wait. Are you still not old enough to join us young fella? I'm putting in my pre-season in the Southern Div one..
Good to hear you are up and about again

    ReplyDelete
  32. No Hugo, I'm 30 in October & you guys have moved up an age division this year to over 35's. Bails just sneaks in at around 53!!

  33. CA, as much as i enjoy a bit of banter on these sites with you, the above post wasn't me. I didn't hide under a annonymous name last time i had something to say and i wont now. Infact it pains me to say this but i actually agree with you. Having done some coaching in the past I'd have definetly told my players to test kenny out at every opportunity, and if i was playing on him now I'd do the same myself. You've watched me play enough to know i suffer from white line fever and never have shied away from a body check or late tackle, it would be pretty hypocriticle of me to comment against your original post.
From what i watched on the weekend his ribs are fine, and if they aren't then opposition wanna watch out for him when he is fit!

haven't seen much soccer this year but port looked quality vs s'set yesterday. looking forward to seeing them against rangers in top of table clash soon. Good to see knights back on the winners list, dane hudson doing a great job there.

only other game i watched was dev vs riverside. although 6nil, i thought riverside played some good soccer in patches and look to be a side capable of big improvement in the future. Hughes in the middle of midfield particularly impressive.

hope to see a few more games in the coming weeks, and maybe even get on the training track myself shortly. might even get a kick upfront with gilly and howey in the wizards!
