Somerset 1-0 over Burnie, first win for Sharks for a number of years.
ReplyDeletePoor attitude by Burnie girls who picked up bags and went straight home.
Heard there was a few nasty comments on Facebook thru the week?
Keep it on the park girls!
The Girls left straight away to get to Launceston where the men were playing, not because of a bad attitude.
ReplyDeleteAll 15 ?
ReplyDeleteNigel,
ReplyDeleteBurnie had 3 girls leave before the game had even finished due to work commitments, the coach is a senior player and 8 others went straight through to Launceston to support the men. As a club, the men and women are all one and support each other every weekend, with the game being changed to a Saturday splitting the club, it was made a 9am game so as the coach and other players could get through to Launceston for the mens games, surely not a poor club attitude by any means? So with 3 leaving before the end of the game, 8 going through to Launceston, that leaves 4 other players, and with no mention by the somerset girls or their coach of any food being put on after the game, what were the 4 girls that werent heading to Launceston meant to do, stick around and support the Somerset men?
As for the comment about nasty comments being on facebook, maybe you want to have a look in your own backyard for that one as the only nasty comment was from a SOMERSET player, calling some of the Burnie players "Barbie dolls", with the other comments all being in friendly rivalry, with the Burnie girls saying cmon burnie and the somerset players saying cmon sharks!
The game was played in good spirits and was a well fought contest, one in which Somerset were the better team on the day, why bring negatives comments such as these out after the game when it had been played in the right spirits and much of the information was incorrect anyway?
Nigel has gone very quiet on this one!!!!!!!
