good test for the knights this week, kenny apparently didnt get a sore foot last week, hope hes just plain out of touch this week.knights will see some changes this week that will toughen up the defence ,however that comment comes from a supporter not a selector .ive heard some comments from the lton city fraternity this week about how the sharks were particularily lucky to have taken any points from last weeks game, and one that sharks dont like it when aggression is returned towards them. only favourable comment was casey kicks the ball a long way. what say you (nigel- td).
ReplyDeleteCould be, as any team with 6 young under 18's is always open to be overpowered by teams with stronger 25-30 year olds.
ReplyDelete3 of the boys are quite solid and will grow into big young men soon enough, so time is on our side.
Our 2006 State Premiers were mostly all under 18's at the club at one stage.
You have to ask your self, how many times are clubs lucky to beat City, and how many times are they just plain better than the black white!! I heard it when River beat them, ///kingborough, of course Devonport would never have beaten them if the referee didnt pick on poor old pony for falling over, and now for some reason, the sharks didnt deserve to win, despite the fact they kicked more goals, and at the end of the day that is what counts, stop your winging ladies and start to play like men, then you might win a game!!!! You lot did lose the buy didnt you!!!
ReplyDeletethis weeks games are going to be tight! will be good to see who comes out winners. apart from launy city vs united haha. i feel for united though it sucks getting raped every week.
ReplyDeleteEASY TIPS THIS WEEK :
ReplyDeleteburnie 1 - riverside 3 (6/4 flag favs have only beaten lan utd/somerset and unlucky laun city all weaker teams this yr,and when played any1 whos ok have lost )
Devonport 4 - Knights 1 ( Dev haven't lost this yr and look good 4 the title agian ,Knights counter attacking game wont work agianst the port )
Ulverstone 1 - Rangers 2 (theses 2 played at this ground last yr in a cup game and ulvie won on penaltys, ulvie only beaten som and lun utd but will be another close 1 rangers just )
Unlucky city 5- Lun Utd 0 ( With the pony diver back they should win easy vs a stubborn UTD )
Yep, Burnie will be a hand full back at montello this week, River are a good out fit, be a close one, but I reckon Burnie will bounce back and get back in the winners column.
ReplyDeleteProspect have one of the better records against Devonport of late, and wouldnt be supprised if they continue this this week. Be good for the league if they do, im gonna tip a Knights win.
Rangers other than last year had a history of 1 goal results with Ulverstone, think we will be back to that this week.
Launceston possibly get their first point or points this week, maybe City will dominate the game but just get beaten? buuut I think City might just get the monkey off the back.
Red Bull, Rangers played at Ulverstone 4 times last year, we beat the reads 3-0 3-0 3-0, we lost on penalties to Clarence after a 2-2 result at Ulvie due to all the rain last year and Ulverstone seems to be the only ground that can handle it
ReplyDeleteopps thats right was too
ReplyDeletewell if thats the case ulvie 3 - zip lol
From what I have heard Captain, City were lucky to get two late goals, so how can they say Sharks lucky, agree with you mate, get on with your own game and get results?
ReplyDeleteAgree to some extent also with red Bull, Burnie have had a poor start to season, and now with De Bomford out will be hard pressed to live up to early expectations, hence the new premiership market?
5 - 4 Devonport
6 - 4 Knights
2 - 1 Riverside & Rangers
4 - 1 Ulverstone
6 - 1 Burnie
10 - 1 Sharks
100 - 1 City
500 - 1 United
Still looks a close season and results will be hard to pick at times, injuries, sickness, water logged pitches & suspensions will play a big part in deciding this years title (as usual)?
River 2 - 1 over Burnie (too quick where it counts) and defense not shaping up as Sam would have liked?
ReplyDeleteKnights defeated Devonport 5 - 0 last year, can't see that happening again, and expect a 2 - 2 draw this week?
On the "dry" Reds pitch I will tip the Gers to win 2 - 1, guess who will score for Ulvie?
While the "luckless" City will defeat United 3 - 1 to avoid the wooden spoon, if they play the ball and not the man that is (can't get away with rough stuff every week in Tassie)?
Hey Bad Boy I'll take 20 on burnie at 6-1, thankyou, i think they will take a little longer to gel as they had a few inclusions to get settled.
ReplyDeleteThis week burnie at home too strong 3-0
Knights step up against Port physically similar 1-1
Rangers doing well early with a settled team 3-1
Match of the round...not..city and united to lack creativity 0-0.
good games this weekend should sort a few of the league positions out.
ReplyDeleteriver to get up, sam hughs to run a muck with burnie's defence
knight to do well against dev for a draw
rangers to beat ulvie, i wonder if their pre-season form has stuck about.
city and utd for an interesting 3-2 game.

ReplyDelete4 close games this week and hopefully will keep ladder tight at the top
ReplyDeleteRiver 1 - 3 Burnie
Knights 2 - 2 Devonport
Rangers 3 - 2 Ulvestone
United 1 - 1 City
as for the aggression dont know what they are referring to thort game was played in good spirits except maybe last 5 when as expected both teams were pushing there hardest and both teams going in hard??? Oh and yeh the only agression i saw on the field was the poor belting that the piece of fencing got near the subs bench every time a city player was subbed they thort it needed a kick apparently :S would love to no the logic behind some of the substitutions tho??
ReplyDeleteriver and burnie 3 all
ReplyDeleteknights 1- dev 2
rangers 1 - ulvie 3
unites -3 - city 1
all right then. firstly in regards to that putrid report that the knights wrote up in regards to old mateys abrahams suspension. that was an absolute joke. were u watchin the same game? reading that little bit of puss that was sent through actually made me crook. and if they cant handle a bit oh crap from the crowd piss off and play netball. and on the racial comments made by the crowd that is horse s*@t. i was standing in the crowd why cant i make a complaint on them i was called every name under tha sun. and where is my complaint... oh thats right im a man and dnt whinge over crap. wow and then on to fft. they actually wanted to suspend both our officals for breaking up the fight... wat is the go with that? no wonder soccer cops a bad name for being soft. i know 4 a fact that punchs were being thrown at andy gibson. wat is he sposed to do in this situation? cop em? any one that reckons thats wat he should have done should come talk to me and ill tell you that you are a joke to your face. anyways enough of my ranting. get a hold of that report and u will have a good old laugh.
ReplyDeletewhat report an where can i have a look at it
ReplyDeleteResults
ReplyDeleteWatched River beat Burnie 2-0 Kamon Johnson red carded with 1 minute to go, pity he was best on park by far,
Heard Rangers 3-1 over Reds and Knights upset Port 5-2 !
any1 know the scores between city and united or was that anight match? any truth that dev were missing a few players or not knights seem to always do well away to dev tho. and as a spectator at burnies game would like to no what kaimons second yellow was 4 can only guess dissent??
ReplyDeleteNew prices on premiers after that round as follows:
ReplyDelete6 - 4 Knights, Devonport
7 - 4 Riverside & Rangers
6 - 1 Ulverstone
8 - 1 Burnie
12 - 1 Sharks
20 - 1 City
500 - 1 United
Looks to be a 4 horse race, with next 4 capable of shaping top 4 order if top sides let guard down?
I heard Launceston City 6 Df Launceston United 0
ReplyDeletebeleive kamon called harry a d--kh--d, can't do that! Kamon obviously tired and a little frustrated.
ReplyDeleteHe must have said it too loud, cause that's one of Harry's many second names isn't it?
ReplyDelete:)
haha pribably justified after the 3 poor tackles on him be4 it but i thort dissent was only a yellow yet harry gave him 2 for that so wat was second for
ReplyDeleteFirst was for telling harry he should be handing out some cards to river players, second was for the dh comment.
ReplyDeleteWhat about some reports from other matches?
Rangers played well against a good Ulvie side, report on our site if your interested. www.northernrangers.com
ReplyDeletetwo very lucky goals one to each side, Pooley punched a ball clear only to have hit hit Mann in the back and go in, Ulvie returned the favour with a fine headed goal into their own net by Baldock, was a fine effort had he have been a ranger, Bremner got the winner with a fine goal also,
Game played in good spirits as they generally are between our clubs. they will still cause plenty of trouble and im sure will be pushing top four all year and probably make it!
pooley punched ball into luke tuma's balls for the ulverstone goal actually.
ReplyDeletewas talking to a river player who said kaimon go the yellow for the DH comment then kept chirping then got the 2nd yellow.
what happened in the dev game, looks like knights are playing well after a slow start
Knight's were good Todd. As good as they were, we were equally as bad!!! We were basically full strength. A few injuries early in the game didn't help our cause but weren't the deciding factor in the result. Had Sean Collins refereeing & normally I think he's not too bad but Saturday wasn't even close to his best!! Again though, that didn't affect the result too greatly (both sides were equally confused at times!!). But hey, you get games like that sometimes!! Best side won so we can't complain too much!!
ReplyDeleteknights are starting to get back a couple of the players that are important to thier campaign.some will remember the enthusiam i greeted, and still feel about our new arrivals. however sean harris'and tim claxtons worth to any northern league side can not be overstated.i wasnt at the knights game at dport and could not come on here and pout, which can be my way.so thanks chris for what i will take as a candid view.nigel ..bad boys 20 @ 6-1 aint looking too bad.
