ReplyDeleteBurnie 4 Launceston Utd 0
Nth Rangers 5 Lanceston Allies 0
Devonport 4 Ulverstone 0
Prospect 3 Utas 1
Launceston City 8 Somerset 0
Good luck to all teams involved this weekend
remember Play Hard But Paly Fair
Intersting Women's comp unfolding. Seems as Club are slowly catching Launceston City. PArticularly Devonport and Rangers.
ReplyDeleteThink Burnie should easily account for a young Launceston.
Rangers will have the allies measure this week under lights at the NTCA
Prospect should defeat UNI
And City as always to beat their opponants, this week its Somerset!
stil think there is a fair gap between city - dev an rangers. city will roll it in again this year
ReplyDeleteAnon, possibly true, but the gap is closing I feel, may not close this year, but it will close!
ReplyDeleteyes true depends on how long old jill couch keeps playing for. once she retires then city wil be left with just the one female superstar in chelsea smith. rangers probably just ahead of dev but need to get a keeper or city wil stil beat them easy.
ReplyDeletecan you please get rid of the picture of the faggot on the bottom of this page please governess
Congrats 'governess' on the new site!
ReplyDeletehope everyone appreciates the time and effort!
my tips for round 4 r:
Burnie 5 Launceston Utd 0

ReplyDeleteSat night - Rangers 7 - Allies 1
ReplyDeleteNR vs LC Allies
ReplyDeleteHT 5 - 0
FT 7 - 1
Scorers NR - Wheatley, Rebecca 4. Loft, Jessica - 1. Chong, Zzen - 1. Preston, Sharelle -1
Allies - Maloney, Sasha -1
Game of two halves. Rangers dominated first, Wheatley with 2 good finishes + a goal from a free kick.
Second half Allies more organised, with Maloney having an outstanding game once moved to attacking midfield from the wing. Played in great spirits under lights, with ~70 spectators looking on
Ltn City V Somerset
ReplyDeleteHt 4 - 0
Ft 7 - 0
Scorers Lt Cy - Jill Couch 3, Chelsea Smith 2, Caitlin Storay 2,
During the first half Somerset defended really well there could off been more goals scored if it wasnt for the defence, Second half City started a little flat and took a while to get going and when they did another three goals scored, Caitlin and Chelsea were instrumental up front.
Re Rangers game of 2 halves: this quote from RangersGirls website:
ReplyDeleteAfter the game Coach John Crooks stated "no disrespect to the young Allies side but there was nothing to be gained by going out to double the score. They are a developing side and don't need scores against them in double figures - that does't achieve anything.
We are not out to win top goal scorer of the day/week/or year what we do is a team effort, so at half time we (Ian and I) decided to let our team discover what it is like to play in other positions so they can appreciate the difficulties and hopefully they now understand each others positions more and will work together even better together as a team".
City I reckon streets ahead of the rest. Rangers and Devonport are the 2nd and 3rd sides in the league, however Rangers wont challenge City until they solve their keeper problems. At the moment filling the possie with field players, who have very little keeping experience. I feel this will be exposed against the 2 other top teams expecially City
ReplyDeleteRangers are still a league behind City. City first tier, dev 2nd tier, rangers and burnie 3rd tier.
ReplyDeleteCity lost many players from last year, and only have a squad of 12, but all teams will struggle to beat them as long as chealsea smith and jill couch remain in the team.
Noticed the scores in Burnie United vs Lton United game.. 16-0 to Burnie, McCulloch kicking 7 on her own.
Is it correct practice to have a team in this league who are gettin continually beaten by such margins?
Anon...don't agree with all your comments but. . . in ragard to 'correct practice' where do you think they should be playing?
ReplyDeleteHaving them play here is better than them going to another 'code' and it also shows that Launnie Utd and /or Cally are doing something toward youth development.

In regards to Launie UnitedI hope they stick together,Clubs that don't support their womens teams as they should, will continue to have mass player movements each year, and as what has happend in the past have no women representing their club, this nearly happend to United this year,Last year the City Matildas took some heavy losses, City have made some changes this year and the Allies are developing,It's time for a Two Tier Comp up here 2010,lets give the younger developing women a viable comp to keep them in the game,Stick together United girls, others support no negativity please.
ReplyDeleteSentinel
here here
ReplyDeleteYeah agreed, a 2 tier comp would possibly be better for womens league - fingers crossed united stick together, fight hard, and build, but going to stuggle to keep girls when gettin royally pumped each week - no one enjoys that!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the FFT site under reports, Northern Womens Premier League now have Previews & Reviews every week, another step in accepting the womens game up here is growing in stature.
